Finding different lines of Symmetry

An activity to find the lines of Symmetry in different shapes was done in Class VI where students using paper folding calculated the lines of Symmetry in an equilateral triangle, isosceles triangle and a rhombus . Students infered that an equilateral triangle  has 3 lines of Symmetry ,an isosceles triangle has 2 lines of Symmetry and a rhombus has 4 lines of Symmetry. This activity helped the students to have the better vision of symmetry.

Activity on Combining like terms by paper bricks was done in 6 class .Students were made to combine green bricks of length x and orange brick of length y.This activity made them understand that like terms can be added or subtracted as when a green brick of length x is added to another green brick of length x the total length becomes 2x similarly when a green brick of length x is added to orange brick of length y total length becomes x+y.Thus we can simplify an expression by combining the like terms..
